Are you looking for a fun, ready to use {NO PREP!} project on global warming? This project is what you are looking for!
This project gives students 6 essential questions to answer about global warming with 11 different options for students to present their findings! My students loved this project because they could choose their final product, and I loved it because I watched my students shine as they used their talents in science class!
This product comes with:
1) Two-page student handout. Page 1 of the handout gives an introduction to the project, describes the project, and gives an overview on how the students will be graded. Page 2 lists the 11 project options that the students can choose from.
2) Grading Rubric – Easy to use rubric is ready to print and use!
3) Student Samples – I included two digital copies of student samples from when I used this project in class. My students did several other creative projects but they were not digital copies, so I unfortunately no longer have them! These two student samples provide answers to the six essential questions, so you will have an “answer key” as well.
I created this project for my freshman Biology class. This project could be used in any middle or high school science class in which global warming is part of the curriculum. I would plan on more class time for middle school students and less class time for upper level high school classes, as most 11-12th graders can work at a quicker pace.
As far as teaching duration, I used this project in my freshman Biology class. In all, it took one week to cover global warming with this project. I worked in a community where homework did not get completed at home. Therefore, they completed their projects in class and we had a day of presentations. You could easily shorten class time with this project if you needed to by assigning parts of the project to get done outside of class. This was my breakdown: It took two 45-min class periods to go over the project and then students answered the 6 questions through research. (You could have students look up the information or give them information to use.) Most students started putting their projects together by the end of the second day. Students had two more class periods to finish the project and we had a day of presentations.

Happy teaching!
